This is a Boxed Set of Antique Victorian English Silver Plate Fruit Knives & Forks with Ornate Carved Bone Handles.
Indeed worthy of the Downton Abbey dining table!
The set is likely to be from the Victorian period - 1880 to 1900 and is stamped on the knife blades for the silversmiths Walker & Hall.
There are 12 forks, 11 matching knives and one replacement knife that is quite different but era correct.
The box measures 28.5cm x 25cm x 5.5cm (2.25”).
The blue baize lined box makes this a stunning set to give as a gift with a blank brass cartouche to the top of the lid which could be engraved.
The knives and forks are in good antique condition with expected surface scratching from useage and age plus some lifting and pitting of silver plate. There is a small hairline crack to only one fork handle although there is general discoloration to all bone handles. The matched knife has several cracks to the bone handle.
